plus size model Tishia Lee casting submission Whos Got Curves 2019

One of the things I love about my move here to the PNW (Pacific Northwest) is all the opportunities there are for plus size peeps. Back in small town Northern Michigan, there wasn’t anything available.

One of those opportunities was attending (and being chosen) an open casting call for plus size models and walking the runway as a plus size model!

And being a part of that has led to some other opportunities, one of them being an open casting call for a brand new TV show Who’s Got Curves.

And in true act before I think, sometimes, fashion 😉 I was submitting the requested information and photographs. After I hit send… well, that’s when it hit me the reality of what I just did.

But like I’ve been doing, with all new adventures, I started wondering ‘what if’ (in a positive way)? And I had fun playing out all the fun scenarios while I not so patiently waited to hear back.

And then the news came…

Dear Model,

Congratulations, and thank you for your submission for our “Who’s Got Curves” Reality TV show, and model search!

We are pleased to inform you that you have made it through the first round, and we would love to consider you as a contestant on the show.

… Please record a video, of one minute or less, on your mobile, device telling us why you think you would be great for the show. Then e-mail the video, or a link to the video, direct to our casting email at: …

Just remember to be yourself, show your true personality, and speak from the heart.

Holy Shit! Yep, I made it through, thousands of entries (it was posted on the directors Facebook Page that there were thousands) and was chosen to move onto round 2!

The video proved challenging. One minute wasn’t a lot of time to work with and I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go with the serious side of my personality or the fun, lighthearted side.

What did I decide? Well, see for yourself! You can now watch my one minute video submission Who’s Got Curves Wannabe Contestant here:

I was excited about the possibility of being a plus size model and reality TV show contestant!

But I didn’t make it through round 2… and that’s ok! I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried my best. And that’s a win in my book 🙂
