Are You Living Life To The Fullest?

Do you ever wonder if you’re thriving or surviving? This has always been an intriguing question to me because I never really understood what it meant. I finally went and looked up the definition of thrive (duh, why didn’t I think of that sooner???) and it makes perfect sense now: 1. to prosper; be fortunate or successful. 2. to grow or develop vigorously; flourish (Source: Dictionary.com) I don’t really care for definition #1, but #2 – yep, that hits the nail on the head for me when I think of thriving in terms of life, business, relationships, etc.! Another way to think about thriving that makes sense to me is living…

Life Is Short, Isn’t It Time To Say YES?

I just recently found Henrik Edberg and got lost perusing several of his blog posts. Lots of awesome, inspirational posts but I especially liked How to Live a Happy Life: 10 Things to Say Yes to Starting Today.  The blurb below really caught my attention: When you say no you can safely stay within your comfort zone. You don’t have to fear failing or being rejected. The scary unknown and sometimes difficult change can be avoided. But if you say yes your life can expand and deepen. The yes allows you to open up your life to more happiness. It made me stop and think about all the times I chose to…

Loving Yourself Even When You Don’t Feel Like It

Self-love is one of the first things I started learning when I walked through the doors of my very first AA meeting (it was March 30, 2012!). I grew up being told I wasn’t good enough, pretty enough, thin enough, yada yada yada. Hating myself, having no confidence, and low self-esteem resulted in a pretty messed up life – as if the mention of AA didn’t clue you in to that 😉 Anyways, one of the first things I was told at that meeting was “we will love you until you can love yourself.” It’s been a long journey and one I’ll never regret or wish to shut the door…

    Pursuing Happiness in Three Steps

Ever feel like, even though things in your life are good, you’re still not happy? I just had this conversation with a friend recently and was saying how I feel guilty that I feel so unhappy some days. I have a roof over my head, food in my belly, amazing friends, wonderful family, my sobriety (I will be sober for 5 years on March 3rd, 2019!), a reliable car, fun clients, the ability to work anywhere because of my online businesses. I literally have nothing to complain about or be unhappy about. But yet I often find myself thinking ‘I should be doing this and then I’d be happier’, ‘I’d be happier…

    Think You Can’t, Think Again

Ever find yourself muttering “I can’t?” Sadly, I do all too often. If it’s not just “I can’t”, it’s “I can’t because I’m scared”.  When it comes to being scared of doing something? That’s a pretty lame excuse. I mean lots of people choose to just take a leap and do something while they’re scared. That’s exactly what Jon Morrow did when he made the move to Mexico. Now that may not seem like such a big thing – people move to other countries (or states) all the time. But for Jon, who is wheel chair bound and can only move his face? Well, yeah it was a huge deal for…

    Are You Thriving Or Surviving?

This question is something that over the last few weeks its all I can think about. It bubbled up inside of me during a two day girls trip a few weeks ago when the cabin we stayed in was so far off the beaten path that you can’t get cell service or WiFi/internet service (gasp!). There was lots of time to think about life during our leisurely, relaxing (and oh so beautiful) 4 hour kayak trip down the river, visiting amazing waterfalls, sitting by the campfire and laying in bed each night listening to all the animals in the woods (that was a little creepy sometimes! lol). Anyway, when the question was…
