It probably goes without saying, but I’m gonna say it anyway – what we wear directly impacts how we feel about ourselves.
I mean stop and think for a sec… the last time you wore sweatpants (pajama pants _____ insert whatever here), a big loose 80s band t-shirt (hey, no judgement from me cause the 80s is still my favorite genre!) and hell, maybe didn’t even brush your teeth that morning how did you feel?
- Lazy?
- Like a slob?
- Gross?
- Big?
- Icky?
- Timid?
Of course I can’t speak for you, but for me I know that when I wear those pajama pants with an oversized Goonies shirt or a stretched out 2 sizes too big shirt all day I don’t exactly feel sexy or confident. But it goes further than that too… when I’m dressed like that I tend to struggle more with negative body image and being uncomfortable in my own skin.
Ouch… not exactly how I “should” feel considering I’m all about body positivity and loving the skin we’re in just as we are.
But hot damn when I put on a pair of jeggings (yea you read that correctly, I said jeggings! don’t knock ’em until you try ’em – seriously!) with a cute top in one of my favorite colors suddenly I feel a whole lot different!
- Sexy
- Sassy
- Confident
- Bold
- Cute
- Positive
- Self-assured
Add some make-up and do my hair and that adds a whole nother layer of sexy and confidence to the mixture! 😉
