Hey there beautiful! I don’t know about you but I’m so over society’s body & beauty standards and the damage they’ve done with the narrative that thin is beautiful and if we just lose weight all our problems will be solved & we’ll live amazing, happy lives. Newsflash – losing weight does NOT make you happy & it sure as hell does not solve all your problems! Instead, I believe it’s time for each and every one of us, regardless of our body sizes, to radiate confidence, love our bodies, and inspire others to do the same! Because together, we’re unstoppable!

So, I’ve got an invitation for you…

Introducing my collaborative blog post that is all about helping women embrace and love their bodies! It all starts with one simple yet profound step: choosing just ONE thing you like about your BODY TODAY because you are enough just as you are! I’d love to have you participate in this collaborative blog post by sharing ONE thing you LIKE about your BODY TODAY & why you chose that one thing. Just fill out the form below 🙂 (Submission Deadline: Friday, September 22, 2023).

Why this topic?

One of the most common things I get asked is “How do I get to the point you’re at?” (Being confident & comfortable in my skin, loving my big body, and taking up space unapologetically). I’d like to tell you that my story was one where a magic wand was waved & the next morning I woke up loving my body & myself. That’s not at all what happened of course! In fact, I’m still working on it – this is a journey, not a destination!

But I can tell you it started with that simple yet profound step mentioned above – choosing just one thing I liked about my body that day & looking in the mirror not allowing myself to have any negative talk about it, but instead praising & admiring it while creating an affirmation around it.

Then every single day I would stand in front of the mirror, look at that one area, praise & admire it as I repeated the affirmation over and over. I did this every day – whether it took 1 day, 10 days, or more – until I could look at that area, smile & say with confidence the affirmation I created around it.

Once I felt complete with that one thing, I moved on to the next part of my body. Eventually, I was able to look at myself naked in the mirror and not only accept what I saw but LOVE what I saw. (I even went on to do some plus-size modeling & strutted my stuff in a BATHING SUIT down the runway – pic just for proof 🤪)!

So, this topic is near & dear to me because I’ve lived it – hating my body so much I couldn’t look in a full-length mirror, shrinking myself & apologizing for any space I took up both physically and in other ways – and I don’t want other women to live like this any longer! It’s my mission to inspire & empower women to love their bodies regardless of its size and to take up space unapologetically!

By choosing one thing you love about your BODY TODAY, you’re igniting a spark of self-acceptance that will grow brighter with time! So, join me in starting a ripple effect of self-love/body acceptance that will inspire women everywhere to embrace their bodies because we are all ENOUGH just as we are!
