WARNING: Explicit Language in today’s episode
Today’s guest on The Your Shining Self Podcast is none other than me, your host Tishia (Tish) Lee.
March 3rd, 2021, I celebrated 7 years sober! I went into the AA program a little over 9 years ago, relapsed 1 month and 6 days away from my 2 year sober anniversary.
That relapse was the best thing for me as it kicked my ass into gear!
I saw my addiction in a whole new light and realized if I didn’t get serious about sobriety, I probably wouldn’t be around much longer to even have a chance to get my shit together.
Well here we are 7 years later and I’d like to think I have my shit together… but there are still times I don’t 😉
Anyway, this episode was fun to record. I don’t talk about my sobriety a whole lot anymore – it feels like there’s nothing to talk about other than when I come up on a milestone each year.
So in this episode I share 7 things I’ve learned over the last 7 years being sober.
Listen in as I dive into those 7 things:
- It starts with love
- Look around you
- Be willing to be vulnerable
- Learn to live life on life’s terms
- Forgive yourself and stop feeding quarters to the ass kicking machine
- You’ve gotta do the inner work
- Embrace those annoying ass AA quotes
I go deeper into those 7 things. It wasn’t easy choosing just 7 to share because man oh man have I learned a LOT over the years.
