Self-care is important all throughout the year, but I think it may be even more important this time of year. The holidays aren’t all jolly and delightful for everyone. Especially if you suffer from anxiety, depression, are going through loss or other tough situations.
One of my new favorite blogger finds, Dominee from Blessing Manifesting, is all about self-care and has a great post about taking care of ourselves during the Holidays, especially if you “hate” this time of year.
If you hate the holidays, that’s okay. You don’t have to be that lady in the bright Christmas sweater decking the halls with boughs of holly.
Love that she reminds us it’s okay to hate the holidays. Sometimes it feels like there’s this unwritten rule that you’re the Grinch if you aren’t that lady decking the halls with boughs of holly. And I also loved that she went on to remind us of this too:
You are allowed to celebrate in a soft and quiet way. You are allowed to preserve your energy and not spend it on cooking large dinners, or spending hours shopping, or driving yourself crazy trying to find the perfect gift.
Yes! This time of year is all about taking care of ourselves too! And that means being conscious of what our needs are.
Her message is a good one and one that I think a lot of us need to be reminded of. So, head on over to Dominee’s blog now and read When You Hate the Holidays: Practice Self-Care.
I’d also recommend spending a few more minutes on her blog and read 8 Holiday Self-Care Tips too!
