Today’s guest on The Your Shining Self Podcast is one of my closest friends (and business coach), Kelly McCausey 🙂
Kelly shares her story about how at 19 she made the decision to place her baby for adoption. She said something that I think is so important:
“… I carried around a lot of shit about that. And you know, it was the right decision. I never regretted it. Not one moment. I cried myself to sleep a lot. I felt shame about it. But I never, ever felt regret. Because I knew I made the right choice for my son, and for me…”
Making a decision like that can’t be easy and Kelly takes us through the entire story of how it happened, coming to the decision (to place the baby for adoption), having the baby and what it was like after.
She also shares a part of the story that I make out in my head must have been even harder on her – deciding she made a mistake and taking her baby back only to realize, a few months later, it wasn’t the right decision…
